What is Nectar Bakes’ vegan honey?
At our vegan bakery, we specialise in alternatives to delicious classic recipes, so all can enjoy. But we weren’t always about sweet treats! Our founder Syraat began as an amateur beekeeper almost 20 years ago and saw the need for ethical beekeeping, that could align with a vegan lifestyle.
Since 2009, when we opened our brick and mortar site, we have been honing our recipes to meet a delicious standard of vegan honey, without the guilt of harming animals in the process.
Why vegan honey and not an alternative?
We believe in reduced harm for all animals, but understand that the cruelty-free lifestyle is a journey for all. None of our bakes actually use honey, but to set the example in the food and agricultural industry we have worked towards creating a new standard for ethical beekeeping and moderate production while centring life.
Although controversial, we call our product vegan honey because it impacts the animals minimally. Read more about our ethical approach on our FAQs page.
Where is Nectar Bakes?
We began our farm in Lake District in 2009 and opened our first local honey and bakes store in the same year. Since then we have expanded across the UK and offer deliveries in every major city in England.
Our locations include London, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Nottingham, Glasgow and Cardiff. Keeping our farms local and manageable has been a top priority, so this is enough for now, but we hope we can still reach you – or you can travel to us!
We are excited to finally be taking online orders, but always in line with our bee-seasons. Take your pick today!
